The 2025 Cronulla Junior Rugby League (CJRL) senior competition launch was held in front of a packed room at Sharks Kareela on Friday, February 28. Coaches, players, and officials from all clubs gathered to celebrate the start of another exciting season.

Special guest Luke Lewis shared highlights from his stellar career and spoke of his pride in the Luke Lewis Cup, an annual clash between Panthers Juniors and Cronulla JRL. Coaches from De La Salle, Como-Jannali, Bosco, Engadine, Gymea, and newly appointed Joeys coach Andy Patmore discussed their preparations and hopes for 2025, while club captains posed with the A-Grade premiership trophy—most choosing not to touch it out of superstition!

The night also saw the renewal of Power Waste Management’s sponsorship, covering all open-age competitions, alongside continued support from Shire Steel and District Club Sharks, reinforcing their commitment to grassroots rugby league.

Wrapping up the event, Member for Cook, Simon Kennedy MP addressed the room, pledging his support for clubs in securing funding for facility and lighting upgrades.

With strong club backing, committed sponsors, and an exciting season ahead, 2025 is set to be another massive year for senior rugby league.
