In a heart warming gesture that epitomises the spirit of community and sportsmanship, Cronulla Junior Rugby League (Cronulla JRL) has concluded a remarkable rugby league season by donating $4,000 to the Sutherland Hospital.
The donation was presented by Simone Osfield, Cronulla JRL's Director of Member Services, to Lisa Black, Community Engagement & Fundraising Manager at the Hospital, during a special ceremony held at the Cronulla JRL's offices this morning.
With this generous contribution, Cronulla JRL not only capped off a stellar season on the field but also reinforced their commitment to giving back to the Sutherland Shire community that have long supported their endeavours.
"This donation is our way of expressing gratitude to the nurses and volunteers who helped the Cronulla JRL during the final series as well as the broader Sutherland Shire and Sharks communities in which we operate," said Simone Osfield. "We've experienced our largest levels of participation this year, and we believe in sharing our success with those who need it most. Sutherland Hospital plays a pivotal role in our community, and we are proud to support their invaluable work."
Lisa Black, representing Sutherland Hospital, expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the generous gesture. "The support from Cronulla JRL is a testament to the strong community ties that bind us. Such contributions go a long way in enhancing our ability to provide quality healthcare services to the people of the Sutherland Shire. We are truly grateful."
Cronulla JRL is leading the way in its delivery of all forms of rugby league, not only in nurturing young talent and providing a fun and safe environment in which to enjoy the game but also in fostering a culture of philanthropy and community engagement. The Cronulla JRL's commitment to improving conditions for players, coaching staff, and supporters extends beyond the playing field.
As the season concludes, Cronulla JRL wishes to thank all of its players, supporters, sponsors and service providers. In addition we hope that our small act of kindness, contributes to uniting our community and makes a difference in the lives of others. The $4,000 donation to the Sutherland Hospital stands as a symbol of our dedication to both rugby league and the well-being of our local community.
