Johnny Gio’s Pizza Kicks in for Cronulla Junior Rugby League Females
The Cronulla Junior Rugby League (CJRL) have confirmed a new partnership with Johnny Gio’s Pizza, for the 2025 season. In a boost for the CJRL, Johnny Gio’s has committed to support the CJRL, now one of the largest NSWRL districts in terms of participation numbers.
CJRL Chairman, John Mannah, welcomed this exciting news for CJRL. “We are truly grateful to secure such great support from Johnny Gio’s, which is committed to the Sutherland Shire and local community-based organisations' such as the CJRL. We look forward to working with the team at Johnny Gio’s to deliver this exciting partnership with our female pathways, and see our participants engage with Johnny Gio’s in the Shire at Kirrawee and Caringbah.”
The partnership sees Johnny Gio’s recognised as the female pathways partner of the CJRL,
and as such will be associated with all female competitions. The partnership will also see Johnny Gio’s provide awards and discount vouchers to CJRL participants.
Jonathan Faro, founder of Johnny Gio’s, is equally excited. “Our stores in Caringbah and Kirrawee are proud to support the incredible growth of female rugby in the Shire through this partnership with CJRL. At Johnny Gio’s, we believe in community and bringing people together - what better way to do that than through sport and pizza?”
The CJRL currently has 13 affiliated clubs and has grown to over 6,100 participants in 2024,
which places CJRL as one of the largest Rugby League districts in the country. Female
participation has continued its strong growth in recent years to now make up around 34% of total registrations.
