The Sharks will play Souths in all grades this weekend, in the NRL, Jersey Flegg, the Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership and Tarsha Gale Cup competitions as well as The Harold Matthews Cup and SG Ball junior representative matches scheduled for Sunday.
As an added bonus the 2 Sharks Development squads (u16 and u18) will also take on Souths following the Tarsha Gale and HNWP games at Cronulla High School on Saturday afternoon.
All the games are being played at home in the Shire and so we are calling all Sharks fans to get along and support our teams who will be hunting victories over the Bunnies.
Following on from round four victories, the Sharks Matthews Cup and SG Ball teams are at home again this weekend when they host the Rabbitohs in games crucial to their finals aspirations.
The Matthews Cup scored their third win in four games with a victory over the Central Coast Roosters last Saturday, while the SG Ball Sharks turned in a much-improved performance with a victory over the Melbourne Storm.
The matches on Sunday at PointsBet Stadium get underway at 10am (Matthews Cup), followed by the SG Ball at 11.45am.
While an improved performance from the Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership Sharks last weekend they unfortunately still came up short in a 22-21 loss to the Bulldogs.
The loss left the Sharks with just one win to show for their efforts through the opening four rounds, making Saturday’s round five clash with Souths a must-win affair should they harbour any hopes of qualifying for the competition finals.
The equation is similar for the Tarsha Sharks, who battled hard but were also on the wrong side of the scoreboard in a loss to the Dragons, with their game against the Rabbitohs also crucial to their chances of featuring at the end of the season.
The two games will be played at the Sharks Academy at Cronulla High School, with the Tarsha Gale match at 10am, followed by the HNWP match at 11.45am.
