u16 Sharks turn up the heat in the end to defeat the Dragons in local derby

cronullajrl

The u16 Development Squad local derby between the Sharks and Dragons on Friday night was a cracking contest. Both teams demonstrated what it means to have pride in their respective jerseys and what it means when these 2 clubs play each other regardless of the the age group or division.

The Dragons scored early and led 1 try to 0 for most of the match but in the final 10 minutes of the match it was the Sharks who turned up the heat scoring 2 late tries to claim victory and that euphoria that comes with beating your closest rivals.

Both teams gave it their all in what was their last trial of the season before players return to their local clubs for the start of the junior rugby league season which gets underway in just a few short weeks.

Congratulations to both teams on an excellent season and we look forward to seeing them play each other next season as part of the Harold Matthews Cup competition.

Enjoy the action photos from the game below.
